DJ Emir vs DJ Staxx Battle Routine V2 Practice Session

Never got a chance to pull this one out because I lost round 4 to DJ Stretch by a Quarter point. This one is just one of the earlier practice sessions not the full dialed in version prior to the competition. It has a diss section and that is why I hadn't put it up before, since when taken out of the context of the competition it makes it look like I have beef with Staxx which I don't (though I never did get to respond on the turntables to his own diss) But here is the set not quite as polished as it was when it was competition ready but it's the only video I was able to find of it.

DJ Emir Drake DJ Battle Set Practice Session 2013

This was the practice session for my second Battle set for the 2013 DJ Tribute Battle. This one includes songs by Drake, Wiz Khalifa Featuring T-Pain Black & Yellow Remix, I need to find the newer version of it because I think I added another ending to it. Not sure if I ever recorded it I know someone else recorded the actual battle so I'll try and post that one if I get a copy of the file.

DJ Emir Santana Tupac Routine Practice Session for 2 Minute DJ Battle

This was one of my practice sessions for a 2 Minute DJ Battle set a few years back. Got it down a little better later on. I made it to the semi final round but my 4th set I didn't perform as strongly and lost out by a quarter point. Damn shame cause I had a really strong final set that would have won the competition for sure. I might post the final routine practice session since I never got a chance to perform it. Only problem is it Had a diss for a particular DJ friend of mine that happened to be the defending champ. Doesn't seem right posting it with the diss in it since were' not in direct competition right now LOL.

Pioneer DJ DJM-S9 Official Introduction

This is definitely one of the best mixers on the market today... The teasers Just came out and already the one to get! Pioneer DJ revealed its new mixer, the DJM-S9. The two-channel ‘battle ready’ unit is designed with scratch DJs as its primary target, and will be available from late October 2015 with a hefty retail price of $1699.00. Personally I think it would be nice if they kept it just below $1500

The unveiling is accompanied by a five-minute video featuring quotes and routines from several leading DJs, including DJ Q-Bert, DJ Babu and a huge glowing endorsement from Jazzy Jeff saying: “The DJM-S9 is probably the best mixer I’ve ever seen.” Which makes sense since he, DJ Craze and I all love the DJM-909 and this is definitely the next level of that mixer!

The DJM-S9 is a plug-and-play companion to Serato DJ’s four decks while also natively supporting DVS. It features large color-coded Performance Pads giving “instant access to loops, cues, samples and rolls,” two onboard soundcards and a “proprietary magnetic crossfader” with customizable Fader Bumpers and fully customizable Crossfader tension and settings that DJ Qbert showcases in the promo video. While the unit is available in black, Pioneer is also releasing individually numbered limited edition gold models of the DJM-S9 and the PLX-1000 turntable.

The promo video, which you can watch here, also features the likes of DJ Kentaro, The World Famous Beat Junkies and Red Bull Thre3Style World Champion DJ Shintaro. Then there’s Jazzy Jeff, who was heard in the mysterious teaser, waxing lyrical throughout. “It’s everything you love from every favorite mixer, and more,” he says. “It’s everybody’s party rocking mixer.” This mixer and the Rane TTM 62 are the two best mixers on the market for DJs that love being creative and for turntablists that are working with Serato Scratch or serato DJ software. Hopefully the two mixers now having direct competition with each other will drive the prices f both mixers down just a little bit and make it more accessible to more DJS.
